7 Waiver Pickups For Fantasy Championship Week

QB Matt Barkley, ---

Barkley has done an excellent job since taking over as the starting quarterback for the Bears. In four starts, he has two 300-yard games with multiple touchdowns. He had a bad game against the 49ers in inclement weather conditions in which he attempted only 18 passes, and he was mediocre on the road against a good Lions defense. In Week 15 against the Packers, Barkley passed for 363 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions. Alshon Jeffery returned from suspension, and along with Cameron Meredith and Jordan Howard, Barkley has some weapons to work with. The Bears are home in Week 16 against a Redskins team that has struggled to contain quarterbacks. They have allowed ten passing touchdowns in their last five games.

RB Justin Forsett, ---

Forsett had more touches than Devontae Booker for the second consecutive game. Forsett had 14 touches, while Booker had eight. Forsett had ten carries for 37 yards and caught four passes for 16 yards as the Broncos offense struggled against the Patriots and didn't score a touchdown. The Chiefs have allowed four consecutive games of at least 100 rushing yards. Forsett will catch a few passes and be involved in the offense, so if you're desperate at running back, Forsett is in play.

RB Dion Lewis, ---

It's always difficult to predict the usage of Patriots running backs but Lewis is healthy, and the Patriots seem to want him ready for the playoffs. He had 18 carries for 95 yards and caught two passes for nine yards. The Patriots are home for the Jets in Week 16 and Lewis could be involved heavily again.

RB Ty Montgomery, ---

It took way too long for the Packers to commit to Montgomery as the primary running back. He's better than James Starks and Christine Michael. Starks was inactive due to a concussion and Montgomery played more than 80 percent of the snaps. He rushed 16 times for 162 yards with two touchdowns and caught two passes for one yard against the Bears Sunday. Montgomery is eligible at running back in some leagues. The Packers are at home in Week 16 against the Vikings, who haven't been as good against the run lately. They allowed the Colts to rush for 161 yards on Sunday.

WR Tyler Lockett, ---

Many were hoping this would be a breakout season for Lockett. Early on, those hopes vanished since he was dealing with a PCL injury that sapped his explosiveness. He played through it, and it clearly hampered him. After no receptions in Week 12, Lockett had five catches for 63 yards and rushed for a 75-yard touchdown. The team was awful in Week 14 against the Packers and Lockett had four catches for 41 yards on two targets and two carries for 15 yards. In Week 15 against the Rams, it was clear the Seahawks wanted to get Lockett involved. He received eight targets and caught seven passes for 130 yards with a touchdown.
