Welker had a career year last season with the Dolphins before being traded to the Patriots this past off-season to compliment New England's other acquisitions of big play WR's Randy Moss and Dante Stallworth. Going into week 1 Welker has been the healthiest of all the off-season acquisitions, giving him the most time to work with Brady and get comfortable with his new quarterback. Troy Brown was always Tom Brady's most trusted target and Welker is a Brown clone, so don't be surprised to see Brady to Welker whenever New England needs a big first down. Even though both Moss and Stallworth have missed time during the pre-season with injuries and won't be at full speed, the Jets will be focusing on stopping them, leaving Welker room to make plays, giving you one more reason why Welker will come up with a big week. If you're in leagues where receptions count, Welker will be even more valuable because while he might catch 5 or 6 balls in a game, he usually doesn't gain many yards on those catches. Look for 6 catches for 70 yards and just maybe a TD.
