2026 Team Outlook: Los Angeles Rams
WR Jordan Whittington, LAR - Deep-league Only
Whittington's five-year college career at Texas was modest by any measure (141 receptions for 1,833 yards and six touchdowns on 202 targets). His most productive season came in 2022 (50/652/1 on 77 targets), and he cracked the 100-yard mark just once in his entire collegiate tenure (10/115). His pre-draft profile was that of a player most teams would pass on entirely, yet Los Angeles took a flier on him in the sixth round of the 2024 draft. What he brings to the field is rooted in effort and intelligence rather than athleticism. Whittington is at his best, working underneath coverage and over the middle near the line of scrimmage. His speed, quickness, and burst all fall well short of NFL-caliber wideout standards, and while his route running has a functional base. His breaks lack the sharpness needed to beat even average defenders on the outside consistently. In his rookie season, Whittington connected on 22 of 28 targets for 293 yards, stepping into a starting role in Weeks 2, 4, and 5 while Nacua was sidelined — producing two usable fantasy lines in the process (6/62 and 7/89). A shoulder injury cut his Week 7 appearance short after just five snaps, wiping out two games and limiting him to a minimal role down the stretch. He made the most of a final opportunity in Week 18, turning five targets into a tidy 3/86 and adding 12 yards on two carries while spelling Nacua, who sat out the regular season finale. The Rams gave Whittington WR3 snaps (36.5%) in 2025, but he didn't offer one playable fantasy game. His season ended with 18 catches for 171 yards on 25 targets while gaining only 9.5 yards per catch. Fantasy Outlook: Whittington brings a low ceiling in scoring while potentially being a low-grade handcuff to Puka Nacua. He will be found in the free agent pool in 12-team leagues until Los Angeles has a wide receiver injury.
WR CJ Daniels, LAR - Dynasty Only
Daniels brings a six-year college career to the NFL. After a quiet first 28 games with Liberty, he caught 55 of his 87 targets for 1,067 yards and 10 touchdowns. A transfer to LSU led to a dull season (42/480/0), followed by a year (50/557/7) at Miami (FL). Daniels missed all but four games in 2022 due to a torn ACL. His challenge at the NFL level comes against physical defensive backs in press coverage. He brings scoring upside, along with a reasonable starting floor in his route running. Daniels battled injuries three times in his college career.
