Week 14: Pickups of the Week
WR Sidney Rice, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
The rookie second round draft pick WR from South Carolina has gotten more involved in the Viking's offense the past two games. Rice had 3 receptions for 82 yards, plus a TD against the Giants This past weekend against Detroit, he had 5 receptions for 53 yards, plus a TD. He has more value in Dynasty Leagues, or large Keeper Leagues, but the Vikings have favorable matchups versus San Francisco (#24 pass defense) and Chicago (#25 pass defense) over the next two games. If you are looking for a WR, then consider picking up Rice for a roster spot.
WR Roddy White, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
We listed Roddy White last week because he is quietly having a great year for the Falcons and because he was surprisingly still a free agent in most leagues. White had yet another good game on Sunday, getting 10 receptions for 146 yards and a TD. Besides leading Atlanta in receiving this year, the third year receiver from UAB now has 62 receptions for 920 yards, plus 4 TDs on the year. White is the only Falcon worth owning in fantasy football this year and he is surprisingly still a free agent in almost all leagues, so pick him up immediately!
Week 14 Defense: Some fantasy owners were not able to draft one of the top defenses and will just pick up a defense for the best play of that week every week. In week 14 a few to consider (that may be available in your league at this point in the year) are: Jacksonville (at home against 5-7 Carolina); Seattle (at home against 6-6 Arizona); Minnesota (on the road against the terrible 3-9 San Francisco 49ers); or if you are very desperate, then Buffalo (favored at home against 0-12 Miami).
