Lions not looking to deal Williams before trading deadline

Lions new GM Martin Mayhew said that the team has no plans to trade WR Roy Williams prior to the October 14 NFL trading deadline. Mayhew added that he would be open to talks, but does not believe any will be forthcoming.

This comes on the heels of Williams (who is in a contract year) criticizing both his role within the offense and the organization overall, saying "I think this place might be cursed". With the 0-3 Lions not looking anything close to a playoff team, it could make sense to move the standout wide receiver; teams like the Cowboys, Bucs and Ravens could make a play for the 26-year old receiver.
