Chargers RB Ryan Mathews very sore on Thursday

San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews @rmathews24 (foot) experienced a lot of soreness on Thursday morning, forcing him to miss practice on Thursday, "I've got a lot of help," Mathews said. "Jacob (Hester), Mike (Tolbert) and Phil (Rivers), they're helping me as much as they can." Tolbert missed practices last week and because of that, Mathews received more playing time in Week 3.

Fantasy Analysis:

Considering Tolbert is now getting more practice time, expect that trend to continue with Mathews being the 'odd back out' this weekend. Mathews does look very improved from his injury-riddled rookie season. With the passing game not clicking as it has in recent year between Philip Rivers and his receiving corps, both Tolbert and Mathews have carried the load for the Chargers. Tolbert is the must-start between the two and Mathews' recovery should be monitored as he is a likely game-time decision.
