UPDATE: 49ers WR Braylon Edwards undergoes knee surgery

Although San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh didn't want to say much about it, he did confirm on Wednesday that wide receiver Braylon Edwards @OfficialBraylon had a surgical procedure done on his right knee earlier this week. Harbaugh said Edwards would be "out for a little bit." Edwards has already been ruled out for this week's game versus the Cincinnati Bengals; it's unknown when he will return.
Wide receiver Michael Crabtree @KingCrab15 is expected to fill the void after missing last week's game because of lingering foot problems. Harbaugh said Crabtree would "most liikely" play this week.
Edwards, who was signed by the 49ers to a one-year, $1 million contract in August, has caught just four passes for 48 yards with no scores this season.

Update: According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Edwards had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee and he is expected to miss three weeks.

Fantasy Analysis:

With Edwards out, I guess Josh Morgan could also get more looks. But outside of Vernon Davis -- who has put up disappointing numbers through two weeks -- you want nothing to do with the Niners' passing game. Edwards is worth dropping. Crabtree, with all of his ability, is just a tease. And he's also not healthy.
