Baltimore DT Haloti Ngata secures five-year, $61 million contract

The Baltimore Ravens proved that defensive tackle Haloti Ngata @Haloti_Ngata92 is worth his weight in gold, literally. They rewarded him with a five-year, $61 million contract on Tuesday. The contract includes $20 million guaranteed in each of the first two seasons. Those numbers match the money given to Detroit DT Ndamukong Suh as a rookie. Ngata is now the league's highest paid player, excluding quarterbacks.

Fantasy Analysis:

Ngata is one of the premiere defensive linemen in the NFL. Don't believe me? Look at his contract. He's in the prime of his career at the age of 27 and he's a key defensive cog alongside Ed Reed, Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs. Baltimore puts its money where its mouth is and clearly, that's on defense. This level of commitment to their best players is how the Ravens have remained a consistent contender in the AFC for years now.
