Rams WR Danny Amendola wants to play despite serious injury
St. Louis is having to overcome multiple injuries with RB Steven Jackson
, WR Danny Amendola
and QB Sam Bradford suffering injuries. Bradford's bruised index finger isn't serious and it remains to be seen how long Jackson may be held out from playing. In the case of Amendola, he may have suffered the most serious injury of the trio but is eager to get back on the field. ESPN's Adam Schefter said, "Amendola actually wants to play, and the Rams doctors are gonna have to try to hold him out." Head coach Steve Spagnuolo has already confirmed that the injury will not require surgery.
Fantasy Analysis:
Can't deny that Amendola is one tough guy, but this may be wishful thinking more than anything. Amendola will likely be back before the Rams' Week 5 bye, but don't insert him into starting lineup until it's confirmed he is able to play. If teams let players decide when they were ready to take the field after an injury, most guys would never sit. Amendola's dislocated elbow was not pretty to look at during slow-mo replay. Amendola had five catches for 45 yards on six targets so no doubting he'll get his looks if he's on the field.
