Jaguars head coach says TE Marcedes Lewis has calf strain
Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis
missed most of Sunday's second half because of what he said was cramps. But after the game, head coach Jack Del Rio said it was a calf strain, adding "I hope it's not anything significant." Lewis caught two passes for 28 yards against the Tennessee Titans before his departure.
Fantasy Analysis:
Lewis said he'll be fine for next week's game at the New York Jets, but calf strains can certainly linger. We should know more about Lewis' status during the practice week. Making matters worse for the Jaguars, backup tight end Zach Miller was inactive for the game with a knee injury. I don't think many fantasy owners should start Lewis next week, even if he plays. The matchup is tough, and while the Jags should be behind in this game, I didn't see much of a connection between Lewis and quarterback Luke McCown while the big tight end was on the field.
