Chargers K Nate Kaeding out for season
One play is all Nate Kaeding will get this season. The San Diego Chargers kicker was injured while trying to tackle Percy Harvin during the opening kickoff of Sunday's game. A diagnosis hasn't been confirmed, but head coach Norv Turner said Monday that Kaeding will be out for the rest of the year. It has been reported that Kaeding has a torn ACL. He will head to injured reserve.
Fantasy Analysis:
So unfortunate for Kaeding. You wait, wait, wait for the season to come around after the lockout and then your season is over five seconds in? That's rough.
Kaeding is one of the best kickers in fantasy. The Chargers will bring in someone to replace him either today or tomorrow -- it's been rumored that Nick Novak is a likely choice. For Kaeding owners looking for a Plan B, the new guy should be worth an add considering how good San Diego's offense is.
