Panthers' LB Jon Beason seriously injures his Achilles' tendon

Carolina Panthers linebacker Jon Beason @jonbeason injured his Achilles' tendon on Sunday in a close loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Beason went down in the third quarter because of the injury and was carted off the field. Multiple sources have confirmed that it's possible that Carolina could announce sometime later in the day that Beason has been lost for the season. With Beason out indefinitely at the time, LB Dan Connor @DanConnor55 will fill in for him at the middle linebacker spot.

Fantasy Analysis:

For those playing in IDP leagues, Dan Connor isn't a bad player to take a flier on if you've got the roster room for him. Think of it like this, the Panthers are certainly better than they were last year but they still lost to a mediocre Arizona team. Most weeks, they're going to be losing and teams are going to run the ball and play conservatively against them. This sets up a lot of plays that go right at Connor where he could potentially make tackles and rack up points. It's a tough blow to the Panthers' defense as Beason is one of the best linebackers in the NFL.
