Randy Moss to the Saints rumors not credible
There was a report by WWLTV.com, a local New Orleans news station, that stated retired / free agent wide receiver Randy Moss was a "player of interest" for the New Orleans Saints. So the report stated, since the team was dealing with injuries to their two top receivers, Marques Colston
and Lance Moore
, the Saints wanted to acquire depth to secure the position. Later, Saints GM Mickey Loomis told ESPN, "It's a made-up story. Zero to it." For the time being, Moss remains retired.
Fantasy Analysis:
As I see it, where there's smoke, there's fire. Maybe Moss' people called the Saints to see if there was any interest and the Saints politely declined. A reporter caught wind of it, maybe heard it through the grapevine. In any case, the Saints made it clear in their regular season debut that they can make their offense work with just about any receiver they throw out there. Robert Meachem and Devery Henderson both had good performances. Moore should be back in a week or two, so the situation isn't quite as dire as it may seem. Likely not bad enough to warrant pulling Moss off the couch and into their active roster.
