Texans' Arian Foster doesn't practice again, game-time decision Sunday
Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said what we've all assumed for the last few days: Running back Arian Foster
is a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts. Kubiak said Foster "took a big step forward" in his hamstring rehab on Friday, but it's telling that he didn't practice, completing a full week of non-participation.
"What I'm going to do is I'm going to work him out [Saturday morning]," Kubiak said of Foster. "He will be a game-time decision."
Kubiak said that while Derrick Ward
, Ben Tate
and Steve Slaton
will all play if Foster can't go, Ward would get the start. However, Kubiak also said that he will stick with the runner who is playing the best.
Foster is listed as questionable on the Texans' official injury report.
Fantasy Analysis:
Foster hasn't practiced in almost two weeks, and he even said earlier today that you can't rush a hamstring injury because of the high risk of re-injury. All signs are pointing to Foster being inactive on Sunday, which means you'll have to choose between Ward or Tate. Right now, Tate definitely looks like the better back. He's stronger and looked extremely swift during the preseason. The matchup is great and I prefer Tate over Ward, but my confidence isn't all that high just becuase I don't know how many touches each guy is going to get. This looks like a frustrating "hot hand" situation.
