Colts executive Bill Polian has no idea when Peyton Manning will play
As we hope that Peyton Manning's absence from regular-season action lasts no longer than one week, Colts vice chairman Bill Polian was very vague Tuesday in describing when he thinks Manning will play again.
"He is going to be back at some point," Polian said of Manning to WISH-TV in Indianapolis. "What we don't know right now is what the results of the diagnostic tests are, what is the prognosis going forward. This is uncharted territory, but we do know that the nerve regeneration takes time and it just hasn't healed yet. It will.
"The bottom line is he'll be back at some point. We don't know when. We can't predict when. But whenever it is, it will be good to have him back. In the meantime, Kerry [Collins] will hold the fort, and we'll go from here."
Fantasy Analysis:
So we sit and wait with everyone else. Collins will start this Sunday against the Texans, and I've said I have no worries about starting Reggie Wayne
or Dallas Clark. Austin Collie
practiced Monday, so it looks like he'll be healthy enough to play after missing some time with a foot injury, but we'll check back on that later in the week.
However, if Manning is still out of action by the time week three's matchup with Pittsburgh rolls around, I won't be so positive about this offense.
