Cardinals add RB Chester Taylor
Beanie Wells now has more competition in the Cardinals backfield. Kind of.
The Cardinals signed Chester Taylor on Sunday, one day after he was released by the Chicago Bears. Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times broke the news on Twitter. Terms of his one-year deal weren't immediately known. The Bears got rid of Taylor just one year into the four-year, $12.5 million contract he signed in March 2010. As has been pointed out many times over the past week or so, Taylor is going to turn 32 years old in a few weeks and averaged just 2.4 yards over his 112 carries last season.
Fantasy Analysis:
Taylor represents nothing more than injury insurance for Wells and the Cardinals. I assume he's not going to take goal-line carries away from Beanie. He certainly hasn't shown that he can be productive enough to get a 30-40 percent share of the carries. Arizona's running game still belongs to Wells. Taylor isn't worth your fantasy consideration.
