Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas able to practice

Just seven months after tearing his Achilles tendon, Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas @DemaryiusT will practice with the team this week. There had been some speculation that Thomas would be placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list, and team executive vice president of football operations John Elway said some time ago that he expects Thomas to miss half of the upcoming season. But general manager Brian Xanders said Thomas is well enough to start working with the scout team and go from there.
"He's cleared to practice; he's ready to go," Xanders said of Thomas to ESPN. "We're excited about him .... Demaryius worked really hard to get back, so he'll be on the 53 (-man roster).
"Our coaches are obviously going to monitor him. He's going to be running scout team cards eventually in full pads, and we'll see how he is. We've got to get him in shape leg-wise, quadriceps, hamstrings and all of that has to be working well. We'll see how he does. Hopefully it's sooner than later."

Fantasy Analysis:

Thomas, a 2010 first-round pick, played in just 10 games during his rookie season because of a broken foot and a high ankle sprain. He's not someone you want to draft as he probably won't be on the field for a number of weeks. But he has the potential to be a nice midseason pick-up. Keep him in mind.
