Jaguars RB Rashad Jennings placed on IR, season over

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been very tight-lipped about the status of running back Rashad Jennings @RashadJennings, who injured his knee during the team's third preseason game. He was seen on crutches earlier this week, but the team still declined comment. What they did Saturday spoke volumes.
Jennings has been placed on injured reserve, meaning his 2011 season is over. Jennings broke the news on Twitter.
"A Big Thx to all my Fans for the prays & support," Jennings wrote. "[The Jaguars] have decided to place me on IR this yr. I promise i'll return stronger."

Fantasy Analysis:

There's been no confimation on what the injury is, but it's safe to assume that something like an ACL or patellar tendon is torn. This is a big loss for the Jags considering that Maurice Jones-Drew @Jones_Drew32 is coming off of major offseason knee surgery. Jennings was one of the most valuable handcuffs in fantasy, but with him now out of the picture, Jacksonville will have to turn to Deji Karim @KingKarim36.
Karim is a sixth-round pick from the 2010 draft who is slated to be the team's lead kick returner. He's got similar size to MJD, but he's extremely raw. I bet the Jaguars will pick up a more experienced runner to serve as Jones-Drew's backup very soon.
