Source: Colts preparing for QB Kerry Collins to start week 1

Nothing definitive yet, but ESPN's Adam Schefter is about as rock-solid as they come when it comes to NFL information. He had this to say about the Indianapolis Colts this morning on "SportsCenter:"
"They're going as if Kerry Collins is going to be the starter. That's the feeling in the organization."
Collins, who came out of retirement last week to sign with the Colts, would fill in for Peyton Manning. Manning is still recovering from offseason neck surgery. The Colts open their season by meeting with the Houston Texans on Sept. 11.

Fantasy Analysis:

There's a lot more wiggle room in "going as if Kerry Collins is going to be the starter" than "Kerry Collins is going to be the starter."
I'm still skeptical and maybe a wee bit stubborn; I still believe Manning will be there under center next Sunday. But even if he's not, Manning will miss no more than one game. That shouldn't affect his draft stock too much; I think he remains a top-seven or top-eight option at QB. If you took Matt Schaub ahead of him at this point, I wouldn't quibble much.
Same goes for players such as Reggie Wayne @Reggie_Wayne87, Dallas Clark, Austin Collie @AKCollie_17, etc. Each of their current ADPs are about right, and all of those guys are still good fantasy plays with Collins under center for one game, as long as it's only one game. While Houston's passing defense should be better this season -- because it couldn't get any worse -- the matchup is still good enough for all of those receivers to succeed.
We'll find out more about this situation next week.
