Redskins RB Ryan Torain on bubble for roster spot
The Washington Redskins backfield may clear up some room according to ESPN's Chris Russell. Running back Ryan Torain
was on the bubble to make the team heading into the team's preseason finale. Russell stated that the Skins preferred to keep rookie back Evan Royster
over Torain. Royster suffered a concussion so that could potentially change things. If Torain isn't retained, it's a big boost to emerging feature back Tim Hightower
.
Fantasy Analysis:
The hype for Hightower would only grow louder if Torain doesn't make the cut. He and Roy Helu
Jr. are the only two backs that would seriously eat into Hightower's playing time. With Torain's absense, even more touches go to Hightower making him a very desirable flex option with RB2 potential. Head coach Mike Shanahan has a reputation of turning his backfields into committees so this situation will likely remain fluid all season long regardless of where Torain ends up.
