Eagles QB Vince Young suffers hamstring injury
A member of the Philadelphia Eagles' "Dream Team" is a bit banged up right now. Backup quarterback Vince Young
went down late in the second quarter of Thursday's preseason game versus the Jets with a right hamstring injury. He limped off the field after a few moments on the turf and then to the locker room. After the game, Young didn't sound too worried and said he's a fast healer.
"I don't feel like it's major," Young said. "We'll see when we get back to Philly. ... I really feel OK so far."
Young will undergo an MRI on Friday.
Fantasy Analysis:
It was kind of a strange scene as Young was simply scrambling to his right and then suddenly started limping like someone had shot him in the back of the leg.
Young is just a backup quarterback, but the Eagles' backup QB will probably be pressed into starting duty at some point this season considering Michael Vick
has played a full 16-game schedule just once in eight seasons. If Young's hamstring is worse than expected, Mike Kafka
will become the Eagles' No. 2 QB.
By the way, Kafka got knocked a little woozy after taking a big hit in this game. If he, Young and Vick are all out, the Eagles' emergency quarterback is wide receiver Jason Avant.
