Update: Eagles' Michael Vick gets $100 million contract
UPDATE: Well, not so fast. ProFootballTalk.com has the finalized contract terms, and Vick is not going to make $100 million. Actually, he received a five-year deal worth $80 million and a total of $35.5 million guaranteed. There is a sixth year in the deal, but that season voids if Vick participates in 35 percent of the snaps in any year of the deal. So, yeah, that's not going to happen. Still ... I'd take it.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick
has now secured the second nine-figure contract of his career. He and the Eagles came to terms Monday on a six-year deal worth $100 million with $40 million guaranteed."I'm very happy we were able to reach an agreement with Michael on this long-term contract," head coach Andy Reid said in a statement. "It's a product of all the hard work Michael has done to better himself over the last couple of years, both on and off the field.
"I'm very proud that he has been able to achieve success again in this league, but he'll be the first one to tell you that there is a lot of work yet to be done by him and this team as a whole. And there's no doubt in my mind that he will continue on that path."
In 2004, Vick agreed to a $130 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons.
Fantasy Analysis:
Personally, it's the completion of an amazing comeback for Vick after spending about two years in jail for dogfighting. In fantasy, most consider Vick to be the No. 1 QB out there, and some say he's worth the No. 1 overall pick. I am not one of those people because he puts his body at so much risk and has a history of being fragile. There's no doubt that if he stays healthy, Vick is probably the best fantasy player around. I just don't think he will/can stay healthy, and I'm not willing to invest such a high draft pick on a player with such a high injury probability. I'd much rather wait a little longer at quarterback and get another stellar but safer option, such as Philip Rivers or Tony Romo. Or wait even longer and pick Matt Ryan or Matt Schaub.
