Bears RB Chester Taylor isn't playing much in preseason, and he's not happy
Chicago Bears running back Chester Taylor has touched the ball just seven times in two preseason games. He didn't even play in preseason game No. 3 on Saturday. He sees that he is being phased out of the offense, and he wants to know why.
"My running backs coach (Tim Spencer) told me after I came out for pregame that I wasn't playing," Taylor said to the Chicago Tribune. "He didn't give me no reason or no excuse or nothing. It can't be from the competition because it's hard to get three carries in a preseason game and the other players are getting 13, 14 carries.
"I'm practicing all week thinking I'm going to play. Just for them to come out of the blue and say that, yeah, I'm disappointed."
Fantasy Analysis:
Even when Marion Barber
suffered a calf injury during the game -- status currently unknown -- the Bears decided to keep Taylor on the sidelines, opting to go with Kahlil Bell
instead. The Bears signed Taylor to a four-year, $12 million deal in March 2010, but it looks like he won't make the team in 2011. He was a huge disappointment last season, averaging a meager 2.4 yards over 112 carries. If healthy, Barber appears to be the handcuff for undisputed starter Matt Forte
.
