Steelers QB Byron Leftwich breaks arm, season likely over

The Pittsburgh Steelers aren't short on quarterbacks with regular-season experience, but on Saturday night, they lost the QB who was expected to be the immediate backup for Ben Roethlisberger. Byron Leftwich's season is likely over after he broke his upper left arm while getting tackled early in the third quarter during a game against the Atlanta Falcons. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Leftwich will probably be placed on injured reserve. However, the Steelers still have Dennis Dixon @Swoosh510 and Charlie Batch @CharlieBatch16 available in case something like this happens to Roethlisberger.

Fantasy Analysis:

It's been rumored all month that the Steelers are trying to trade Dixon. But now with Leftwich out, it looks like he has a definite spot on the team. Fantasy owners are hoping they don't have to deal with him nor Batch at any point this season. I think Roethlisberger presents pretty good value as the 10th or 11th QB off the board in drafts, a sixth- or seventh-round pick.
