Eagles WRs Jeremy Maclin, Steve Smith practice for first time in camp

The Philadelphia Eagles are poised to have one of the league's most dangerous offenses this fall. They just needed to get a couple of wide receivers on the field -- the ill Jeremy Maclin @jmac_18 and the surgically repaired Steve Smith @SteveSmithWR. On Saturday, they did.
Maclin and Smith practiced for the first time since training camp opened. Maclin had been dealing with an illness for months that was once thought may be cancer. It turned out to be a virus.
Smith had been absent until now due to his recovery from a December microfracture knee surgery. He was signed by the Eagles a couple of weeks ago and was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list. But now he and Maclin are back with the team and preparing to be active when the Eagles start their regular season Sept. 11 versus the St. Louis Rams.

Fantasy Analysis:

Smith is the Eagles' No. 3 WR at best, so he's worth just a late-round pick. But Maclin can be a solid WR2 in fantasy when healthy. He recorded 10 touchdowns and nearly 1,000 yards last year. We've had to wait for him to rebuild his strength after that virus ran its course, but it's a great sign that he is now well enough to practice with still two weeks to go until the games matter.
Maclin should play week one and while he'll likely get off to a slow start due to rust and a lack of practice reps, Maclin has a very high ceiling. According to FFToolbox's ADP chart, Maclin is being selected with a pick in the early 50s. If you can get him in the sixth or seventh round of a 10-team league, I would consider that a decent steal. Again, the beginning probably won't be very exciting, but he'll bring you a profit soon enough.
