Jets RB Shonn Greene expected to return from skin infection next week
New York Jets running back Shonn Greene won't practice for the rest of the week and won't play in this weekend's preseason game because of a skin infection on his right foot. But no one seems to think that Greene will be out for too long. Head coach Rex Ryan said Greene will be "fine" by next week. Greene has been taking antibiotics for a few days.
"He had some problems, so they gave him like a little thing in his foot," Ryan said of Greene. "He was fine. The next day the thing wore off, it got worse, there was more swelling in it, so they tried to drain it or something. He got an infection."
Fantasy Analysis:
This shouldn't affect Greene's fantasy stock as he should be 100 percent well before the regular season. According to FFToolbox's ADP chart, Greene is being selected near the end of the fourth round on average in drafts. He's expected to get 300 or so touches in a run-heavy offense and is big enough for goal-line duty. As a fifth-round pick in 12-team leagues, Greene presents amazing value.
