Chad Ochocinco has 'long way to go' to pick up Patriots' offense

Like many players on new teams, New England Patriots wide receiver Chad Ochocinco is in the middle of a learning process. He's got about three weeks to become fully acclimated to the Patriots' offense before the regular season begins, and he's going to need all of that time. As Ochocinco tells it, he's not close to ready yet.
"It's like a machine out there and I'm that one part that's not up with anybody else," Ochocinco said. "I got a long way to go, personally.
"As time goes on you get comfortable and gel, and I want to hurry up and get that feeling so I can be me. I gotta get there now. Shoulda been there yesterday."

Fantasy Analysis:

Ochocinco scored a touchdown in a preseason game last night, and I have no worries right now about the chemistry between him and Tom Brady. It'll there by the time the games matter. With that being said, I'm not drafting Ochocinco as anything more than a WR3.
Yes, he has upside as a playmaker in a high-octane offense, but Chad is 33-years-old and has clearly lost some of his speed. Brady likes to spread the ball around, and the Patriots don't have a true No. 1 WR. Ochocinco will have to split potential looks between hiim and a bunch of teammates -- Welker, Branch, Hernandez, Gronkowski, Woodhead, etc.
Also consider that only two Patriots wide receivers not named Moss or Welker have surpassed 900 yards in a season since 2001. That was Troy Brown in 2001 and Deion Branch in 2005. So I think you shouldn't expect more than 900 yards and 6-7 scores from Ochocinco this season.
