Jaguars' Maurice Jones-Drew feeling good after first practice
I said we'd update you on how Maurice Jones-Drew
's surgically repaired knee felt after participating in his first full practice of training camp on Saturday. In his words, Jones-Drew told the Jacksonville Jaguars' official website that he feels "no pain at all."
"I kind of got that feel back getting hit. Today was no soreness, no setbacks. No nothing. ... I feel totally different, because there's no pain at all. I think that's the biggest thing, because no matter how tough it is or how sharp the pain is or how dull the pain is, it's pain. This year, there is no pain. It's just going out there and playing like I'd been playing the first couple of years without it."
Jones Drew also had some words for those who are doubting him.
"Pretty much every reporter, 'Will he be back, is it possible to come back and do what he's done?' A lot of fantasy football gurus who have never stepped on the field before or ever been in the locker room, they know the best about football. ... The world has always been against me. I don't need it, it just has happened since I've been little so it's been no big deal."
Fantasy Analysis:
I am on record as being one of those people who is against MJD this year, at least as a top-8 pick. This sounds like a good start for him; I'll need to see more to be a believer that he is back to his old self. Jones-Drew won't play in the Jaguars' next preseson game, but hopefully he can get on the field for their third exhibition game.
