Michael Vick says the game is slowing down for him
Last season, many analysts claimed that Michael Vick
began to struggle towards the end of the year as teams figured out how to defend him. They did this with heavy blitzing, especially on the edges of the offensive line. The Philly Sports Daily has reported that Vick said that the game has "slowed down a little bit" due to coaching sessions where they set up the defenses to attack him with blitzes.
Fantasy Analysis:
Vick's numbers did taper down towards the end of the year. Eagles offensive coordinator Mary Mornhinweg feels Vick needs to take the next step and admittedly, I think there is still room for improvement. For a quarterback who relied so heavily on his tremendous athleticism for so long, Vick still has a lot to learn about how to be a better pocket passer. Fantasy owners will need to weigh the risk involved with drafting him, but it is important to reinforce that Vick's breakout 2010 season happened because he was simply a better all-around quarterback than he was before his legal problems and incarceration.
