Buffalo trades WR Lee Evans to the Baltimore Ravens
After a mostly disappointing set of performances by the Baltimore wide receivers in their preseason opener, the Ravens have traded for Lee Evans
from the Buffalo Bills. Evans is now thrust into the starting lineup for the Ravens who have a number of unproven and rookie receivers formerly competing for a starting spot. Evans was limited to career-lows last season with 37 receptions and 578 yards.
Fantasy Analysis:
Evans will likely be asked to stretch the field and a more prominent role in Baltimore's offense can only improve his numbers but this doesn't suddenly make Evans a legit fantasy option. He has the upside to be a decent flex option, but not much else. The Ravens offense still runs through Ray Rice
and Anquan Boldin
isn't going anywhere as the team's No. 1 WR. Ultimately, this is also a big blow to the fantasy potential for rookie wideouts Torrey Smith
and Tandon Doss
.
