Ravens say they will use Ray Rice as goal-line back

Baltimore offensive coordinator Cam Cameron stated on Thursday that running back Ray Rice @RayRice27 will be utilized as their short-yardage and goal-line back this season. "We were fortunate to have a guy like Willis [McGahee], but this year Ray Rice will be in short-yardage and goal-line as well. He is outstanding." Cameron said. Rice had 1,776 total yards last year but only six touchdowns. He only has 14 touchdowns in his three year career.

Fantasy Analysis:

McGahee poached a lot of Rice's value over the last two seasons by being the goal-line guy for the Ravens. With him out of the picture, Rice will need to step up and deliver for his team and Fantasy owners. The potential for Rice in a PPR league is now off the charts and to put it simply, he is now at least in the conversation for considerating with the No. 1 overall Fantasy pick. For a guy who can put up 70-plus receptions and nearly 2,000 total yards, adding a career-high in touchdowns puts him in that top tier of running backs. The Ravens added Ricky Williams @RickyWilliams but he is strictly a backup until his role is further clarified.
