Arizona may be interested in acquiring Bills WR Lee Evans
Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said that he is content with his receiver depth chart behind Larry Fitzgerald
. Currently, Andre Roberts
is the starter alongside Fitz. Behind them are Early Doucet and Chansi Stuckey
. Whisenhunt said, "We've got a lot of guys at that position who are making plays, it's a good problem to have." The Cardinals are also rumored to be one of the teams in making a play for Bills veteran receiver Lee Evans
.
Fantasy Analysis:
The Cards do have a number of young guys at receiver but no one is standing out just yet. The reality is, since they allowed Steve Breaston to move on from the team, it's easy to assume they are comfortable with their depth to some extent. If they had no one who could replace him, they may have more aggressively attempted to retain him. Roberts is only 23 and Doucet is 25 years old. There's still plenty of time for growth and development. For Fantasy owners, until someone emerges, anybody playing behind Fitz is a late-flier at best. If Arizona acquires Evans, I'm not convinced he's much of a Fantasy play. He hasn't produced in years but he would be a near-lock for the Cards' starting lineup.
