WR Marques Colston struggling with surgically repaired knee
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Marques Colston
has been sidelined with irritation and swelling in his surgically repaired right knee. According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the injury has forced Colston to miss more time than previously expected. "It's getting better," said Colston. "We're just trying to be patient." He has missed six straight days of practice and is doubtful to play in the Saints' preseason opener.
Fantasy Analysis:
Colston has been a fantasy staple since entering the league but he hasn't quite lived up to the high expectations many place on him as the top receiver in a potent passing offense. In such a dynamic offense, any additional playing time for guys like Lance Moore
or Robert Meachem provides a huge boost to their value and draft stock. Fantasy owners should monitor this situation very closely before taking a chance on drafting Colston since he's going to remain an early round option. A bust that early in the draft is tough to recover from.
