Seattle WR Mike Williams will miss preseason opener
Seattle Seahawks top wide receiver Mike Williams
will not participate in the team's preseason opener on Thursday, August 11. Williams suffered a sprained toe in practice today, August 9 and as a precaution, the team will hold him out for the next few days. Head coach Pete Carroll discussed the injury by saying, "It's not real serious but it's enough to bother me. It's a stretch to think he'll be ready to play. I think we're probably going to hold him out."
Fantasy Analysis:
Everything is under a microscope at this time of year and with the lockout cutting short the prep time heading into the year, this kind of precaution should be taken with a grain of salt. If Williams misses multiple games and extended practice time, Fantasy owners should definitely keep this in mind. From Carroll's words, he said it isn't that serious so we can only take that at face value for now.
