Texans' Arian Foster expected to miss 'a few days'
Houston Texans fans and the fantasy football masses can breathe easy. Arian Foster
's hamstring injury is nothing severe. Head coach Gary Kubiak said Saturday that he expects the league's 2010 leading rusher to miss "a few days." Foster characterized the injury as a "tweaked hamstring" and said without hesitation that he is not worried about it.
"I think anytime you have a hamstring injury, you have to rest it," Foster said. "That's the only thing that can heal it. So that's what we're doing right now. ... Hamstring are part of the business."
Fantasy Analysis:
Other than with concussions, recovery timetables for hamstring injuries are the most useless. But I trust that Foster will return to practice in short order. He said he tweaked his hamstring during training camp of his rookie year and missed about a week. However, problematic hamstrings seem to be common for Foster. Besides Friday's injury and the one he had as a rookie, Foster "popped" his hamstring during the 2009 Senior Bowl. So while he's been through this before and knows what he needs to do to recover, it's also a little worrisome that Foster has had to deal with so many issues with his hamstrings. But don't let me scare you off; Foster is still an obvious top-3 player in drafts.
