Redskins TE Chris Cooley dealing with sore knee
Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley
has tried his best to practice at full speed in training camp, but it's been evident to reporters that he is not fully healthy. On Friday, he missed practice. When asked about it, head coach Mike Shanahan said he wanted to give Cooley's sore knee a break and didn't elaborate further.
"You're keeping your fingers crossed that it's not [lingering]," Shanahan said of Cooley's injury. "We thought he needed some rest and hopefully he'll be able to come back, just like normal. But we didn't feel like he could practice today."
Cooley underwent surgery in January to fix a torn meniscus that he played on for all of the 2010 season. The thinking is that he still hasn't fully recovered.
Fantasy Analysis:
For as long as Cooley is sidelined, Fred Davis will get the large majority of his reps. We'll provide an update on Cooley's status when necessary, but feel free to downgrade him a bit in your TE rankings. If rest doesn't do the trick, perhaps another surgery will be an option.
