Panthers sign WR Legedu Naanee

The Carolina Panthers inked wide receiver Legedu Naanee @naanee11 to a one-year contract Thursday. Naanee spent his first four seasons with the San Diego Chargers and now, he'll see a couple of familiar faces in Carolina -- head coach Ron Rivera, who was the Chargers' defensive coordinator, and offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski, who was the Chargers' tight ends coach prior to this year. Naanee caught 23 passes for 371 yards and one touchdown last season. He missed six games due to hamstring injuries. He'll compete against the likes of David Gettis and Brandon LaFell @Blafell1 to earn the Panthers' No. 2 wide receiver spot.

Fantasy Analysis:

I was high on Naanee entering last season, and he started with a bang. He put up 110 yards with a long touchdown against Kansas City in week one. After that, he was pretty much an afterthought. Then his hamstrings started to nag him. Naanee put together a couple of decent games late in the season, but he'll have to earn a spot on the Panthers' roster. However, I still think he has the talent to become a starting wideout here across from Steve Smith @89SteveSmith. If nothing else, he adds to the Panthers' depth at the position and gives Cam Newton @CameronNewton yet another weapon to work with.
