TE Kevin Boss signs 4-year deal with Raiders

The Oakland Raiders have found their Zach Miller replacement in former New York Giant Kevin Boss @KevinBossman. The two sides agreed to terms Friday morning on a deal worth $16 million over four years, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Boss caught 35 passes for 531 yards and five touchdowns last season. He scored at least five touchdowns in each of the past three seasons. "It's disappointing; it's something that occurred very recently, and we were very much involved, but the decision is the decision," Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said to the New York Times. "We wish him well." Moving forward, the Giants have five players listed at tight end in training camp -- Travis Beckum, Bear Pascoe, Jake Ballard, Ben Patrick and Christian Hopkins.

Fantasy Analysis:

As a Giants fan, this hurts my soul a little bit. Boss had stressed how he wanted to come back to New York, but I'm guessing that Oakland gave him more money. Boss is not as athletic as Miller, but he's a suitable replacement. Because of the downgrade in quarterback, I think Boss' fantasy value takes a hit. But if you're in a pinch, I think he can still help you out as a quality TE2.
