Everybody with an opinion says Kyle Orton will be Broncos' starting QB
At least, that's how it appears.
NFL Network's Michael Lombardi on Wednesday: "[Orton] will be the starter in Denver. He will not be traded."
ESPN's Merrill Hoge via Twitter on Wednesday: "Sitting watching tape off bronco offense from last year! Orton or Tebow? It's embarrassing to think the broncos could win with tebow!!"
ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday: "Kyle Orton is not going to be traded. Kyle Orton is not going to be a Miami Dolphin this season."
And all of this pretty much echoes the sentiments of many other writers, both local and national. Just so you know, Orton has been taking all of the first-team snaps in practice. Tim Tebow
and Brady Quinn
are splitting what is left.
Fantasy Analysis:
It's been quite an avalanche of Orton support/Tebow bashing today. Whatever the case, it's definitely time to consider Orton the starter in Denver and issue a big downgrade to Tebow's fantasy stock. Orton won't throw as much this year as he did in Josh McDaniels' offense, but he's probably a decent QB2 in that 17-20 range. It's a slight dose of good news for Brandon Lloyd
that he'll most likely be receiving passes from a more polished QB. But really, Lloyd produced no matter who was under center last season. He's a WR2.
