Chargers add WR Laurent Robinson
This is a long shot, but given the San Diego Chargers' supply of unproven depth at the wide receiver position, this could be something that finishes in the money in 2011. The Chargers have signed wideout Laurent Robinson
to a one-year contract worth $685,000. Robinson, who played the past two seasons with the Rams, announced the move on his Twitter page Wednesday. Robinson, 26, caught 34 passes for 344 yards and two touchdowns last season.
Fantasy Analysis:
Robinson broke a leg in September 2009 and it looked like he had lost some speed last season. But behind Vincent Jackson, there are no sure things in this receiving corps. You've got 32-year-old Patrick Crayton
, second-year player Seyi Ajirotutu
and rookie Vincent Brown
among others. If Robinson can stay healthy in training camp, he has a shot at earning the No. 2 WR job. With Philip Rivers at quarterback, the Chargers' No. 2 WR will hold some fantasy value.
