Titans' Kenny Britt gets his latest charges reduced
FFToolbox.com: Your new No. 1 source for everything Tennessee Titans.
For the second time in a couple of weeks, Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt
has escaped a possible felony conviction. In latest Britt legal news, charges stemming from his June 8 arrest of tampering with evidence, resisting arrest and obstruction were downgraded to disorderly persons offenses Thursday in New Jersey. A hearing will be held on June 23 in that case.
Britt was facing felony charges after an arrest in New Jersey on April 12. For that incident, police charged him with leading them on a car chase. The felony charges there were later reduced to disorderly conduct.
Britt is also wanted in Tennessee on two outstanding warrants that allege he made false statements on driver's license applications.
Fantasy Analysis:
Once again, Britt will avoid time in the clink. That should ease the amount of punishment he will receive from the league and/or his team. But Britt has generated enough bad news this offseason -- and really just in the past couple of weeks -- that a suspension of some length is likely. This news probably means that inevitable ban won't be as long as initially thought. We'll have to see how the Titans' quarterback depth chart shakes out this summer. I don't think Jake Locker starting right away would be a positive for Britt's fantasy value, but the Rutgers product still possess an elite combination of skill and upside. I view him as a high risk/high reward WR2.
