More work coming to Eagles' LeSean McCoy

Despite just 207 carries last season, Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy @CutonDime25 was able to land inside of the top 10 in fantasy scoring among running backs. And head coach Andy Reid is looking to possibly up his workload for 2011. "I think last year LeSean showed that he could be a full-time RB and shoulder that load and we'll continue to utilize him in that regard," Reid said during an online chat with fans moderated by the Philadelphia Inquirer. McCoy made up for the relatively low number of carries with 78 receptions, 592 receiving yards and two touchdowns. This multi-purpose aspect to McCoy's game has him often compared to former Eagles running back Brian Westbrook, who averaged 250 carries and 74 receptions per season between 2006-08.

Fantasy Analysis:

Last season, McCoy gained 1,080 rushing yards on 207 carries and scored nine total touchdowns. With an extra 40-50 touches per season, McCoy should be able to add another couple hundred yards and a few more scores. The main worry with that is can McCoy hold up for 16 punishing games with that extra work? I don't know, but he is certainly looking like a late first-round draft pick this year. We'll have to see if the Eagles add a big back since McCoy, Eldra Buckley, Jerome Harrison and draft pick Dion Lewis @DionLewis28 don't fit that bill. Plus, Leonard Weaver is unlikely to play any time soon after ongoing multiple major knee surgeries during the offseason.
