Lions' Matthew Stafford: 'I feel as good as I ever have'

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford @Staff_9 said Monday that he has completely recovered from his January shoulder surgery. "I feel great," Stafford said. "Healthwise, I feel as good as I ever have, so "I'm ready to go." Shoulder problems have been a real bugaboo for Stafford in his NFL career. He has missed 17 games in his first two seasons because of ailments to his shoulders. He played just three games last season because of two separations of his right shoulder. "I feel like I've done everything I possibly can this offseason to prepare to be healthy and go out there and play," Stafford said to the Detroit Free Press. "You just got to go out there and play hard and let the chips fall where they may, and I think, if I can stay healthy and the rest of our team can stay healthy -- that's a big part of it -- we can be pretty good."

Fantasy Analysis:

Everything sounds so hunky-dorey in May; Two years in, it seems to be a different story for Stafford come September. But like he said, the Lions have a chance to be pretty good if he can stay healthy. At least, they should be fun to watch on offense with Stafford, Jahvid Best, Calvin Johnson in addition to newbies Mikel Leshoure and Titus Young. There are a lot of weapons in this offense, making Stafford a popular bargain pick for another year. Let's just hope his body gives him a chance to cash in on his talent and personnel this year.
