Sources say Patriots' Tom Brady has chronic foot condition

Tom Brady played all of the 2010 season with a fractured foot. He has a chronic foot injury. He will undergo surgery on the foot soon. That was the news surrounding the New England Patriots' quarterback Wednesday. Two sources confirmed to CSNNE.com that Brady's fractured foot is a re-occurring condition that he has dealt with since before the season, and it flares up from time to time. Specifically, it's an ongoing stress fracture. One source told CSNNE.com that to say Brady was affected during Sunday's loss to the New York Jets is "unjust." The Boston Globe reported Brady will most likely have the surgery Thursday, but there's a slight chance he'll push it back to Monday. That will be followed with plenty of rest and rehab.

Fantasy Analysis:

This was huge news on NFL sites, but the fantasy impact is extremely minimal. Even without the surgery, we already know Brady can play and play well on an injured foot. While pocket mobility is crucial, Tom Brady isn't exactly Michael Vick, so a foot stress fracture is never too much of a worry for him. The surgery should obviously help and even though it probably includes the insertion of a screw into Brady's foot, he is expected to be fine in time for training camp.
