Georgia's A.J. Green heading to NFL Draft
Earlier this week, the NFL Draft's prospective top QB turned down the allure of the No. 1 pick and the boatload of money that comes with it. On Sunday, the draft's probable top receiver declared that he will not follow the same course. Georgia's A.J. Green will forgo his senior season and head to the pros. He announced his decision via a press release issued by the university. "While it was a difficult decision, it came down to the opportunity of pursuing a dream I've had since early childhood," Green said. "But Georgia is a great place and I'm so appreciative of the opportunity to be a Georgia Bulldog. I want to thank the coaches, my teammates and the fans who have supported me and helped me grow not only as a player but as a man." In 32 college games, Green recorded 166 receptions for 2,619 yards and 23 touchdowns. Green gained 848 yards and scored nine touchdowns this past season, despite missing the first four games due to suspension.
Fantasy Analysis:
Green has it all. He's 6-foot-4; he's got good speed, soft hands and tremendous leaping ability to go with elite body control. He'll be the first WR selected in April and won't fall out of the top 5. With Luck out of the field, Green might become the No. 1 prospect on some draft boards, but I don't think Carolina is going to take him. However, I doubt he falls past the Bengals at No. 4.
