Chad Ochocinco still under contract with Bengals
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco is still just that -- Cincinnati Bengals property. His 2011 option was picked up, but not recently; it was actually picked up as far back as 2007. That means, despite all the expectations he'll be on a new team before next fall, Ochocinco is under contract with the Bengals for 2011.
Fantasy Analysis:
The Bengals have paid Ochocinco all of the guaranteed money on his current contract, so they don't owe him any part of this $6 million "option" until the season begins, whenever that is. Jerome Simpson
showed good playmaking skills during the final two games out of Ochocinco's spot on the field. And then Chad was asked for his thoughts on Marvin Lewis returning as head coach during a Wednesday radio interview.
"I have nothing to say about that. I'm not the owner of the team. My hands are out of that situation. The only thing I can remember, as of right now, about Coach Lewis, is Coach Lewis throwing me under the bus. When it was time to play the Chargers, knowing that I was hurt. That's the only thing I can remember at this point."
Can you feel the warmth? Something tells me those who believe Ochocinco will be out of Cincy by next season will still wind up correct.
