Bills 'very committed' to Ryan Fitzpatrick
It appears the Buffalo Bills will not have a QB controversy heading into the 2011 season. Head coach Chan Gailey said Monday he's "very committed" toward Ryan Fitzpatrick being the offense's on-field leader next season. "He's done a lot of good things," Gailey said of Fitzpatrick. "He can improve. But we've got to stop the turnovers. But if we can do that I think we give ourselves a chance to be a successful offense." "He allowed other guys to flourish and that's what he does. He puts the ball where it needs to be for people to make plays and that's the one thing you like about the guy. He gives your team an opportunity to win." This was Fitzpatrick's best NFL season since his 2005 debut. He tallied 23 touchdowns in 13 games.
Fantasy Analysis:
Fitzpatrick is definitely the best QB option on the team right now. Brian Brohm didn't impress when he had the stage in week 17. Fitzpatrick was a fantasy revelation during the season's first half. He had a four-game span where he threw 11 touchdowns and just four interceptions. He fell back to earth down the stretch as defenses started catching on to him and his receivers hit injured reserve. Fitzpatrick may have to undergo knee surgery soon, but it isn't expected to impact him next season. He's a quality QB2 if the Bills can improve their offensive line, keep their receivers healthy and get more consistent production out of C.J. Spiller.
