Seahawks' Matt Hasselbeck still has chance to start

The Seattle Seahawks shouldn't hand the reins to Charlie Whitehurst quite yet. Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck @Hasselbeck took some snaps with the first-team offense Friday, his first practice activity this week as he's been out with a hip injury. "He got some work done," head coach Pete Carroll said of Hasselbeck. "He needed the feel of getting in the huddle and making his calls. That's going to make him feel better about the plan if he has a chance to play." Hasselbeck is officially listed as questionable for Sunday night's game versus St. Louis that will decide the NFC West winner. Carroll said it's more likely that Hasselbeck will be a game-time decision and he is still counting on Whitehurst to be his starting QB.

Fantasy Analysis:

It would certainly be a positive for the Seahawks if Hasselbeck could start. I have to imagine he will, even if he is limited by his ailment. A division title is on the line; Hasselbeck better not be able to walk if he can't play under those circumstances. For fantasy, it would certainly be a positive for wide receiver Mike Williams @BigMikeWill17 if Hasselbeck could start. He couldn't get much of anything done last week in three quarters with Whitehurst. The Rams have an OK pass defense, but nothing immovable. If Hasselbeck starts, I think Williams is a nice WR3 in 12-team leagues.
