Eagles' Vick questionable, unlikely to play
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick
's odds of playing this Sunday in the regular-season finale have been described as 'a stretch' according to head coach Andy Reid. Backup quarterback Kevin Kolb
took all the first-team reps on Friday. NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora confirmed on Thursday that Kolb would start against the Cowboys this weekend. Reid said Vick has been recooperating from nagging injuries. "He's been in with (trainer) Rick (Burkholder) and getting everything done that needs to be done," the coach said. Other players listed as questionable include wide receiver DeSean Jackson
(foot), offensive tackle Winston Justice (knee), defensive tackle Trevor Laws (shoulder) and cornerback Asante Samuel
(knee). Linebacker Stewart Bradley
(elbow) is out.
Fantasy Analysis:
The Eagles are locked in at the No. 3 spot in the NFC playoff picture regardless of Sunday's outcome. Since there's nothing at stake, Reid is making the smart decision here. Vick's instincts to scramble and make plays are difficult to manage since it's all improvised. Controlling that sort of variable is tough so the smart money says to stick him on the bench and give him his own personal first-round bye week. The same can said about the players who are listed as questionable. With nothing to play for, it's tough to see any of these guys play for more than a drive or two.
