Cowboys' Kitna misses another practice

Dallas Cowboys veteran quarterback Jon Kitna missed his second straight day of practice. Second-year quarterback Stephen McGee @StephenMcGee07 received the first-team reps during Thursday's practice. If he starts on Sunday, it would be his first career start. The Cowboys face the Philadelphia Eagles on the road. Kitna has a strained muscle on his side which makes throwing difficult. He was hurt when on a pass that went for a touchdown during the first half of Dallas' loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday night. McGee played in the second half and performed admirably. The Cowboys have one remaining practice to see if Kitna is able to play. No official decision has been made yet on who will start the game.

Fantasy Analysis:

Considering that Dallas isn't playing for anything except pride, it's best to avoid placing Kitna in your starting lineup. In only about one half of football, Kitna threw for 115 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in last week's loss to Arizona. In his previous game against Philly in Week 14, he threw for 242 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. For anyone who has their league championship game this week, relying on the mediocre Kitna is a big risk. Fantasy owners should definitely add a new quarterback off the waiver wire and hopefully find a quarterback who has something to play for.
